A Magic Machine

Although their type of magic isn't as practical as ours, I do have to give Muggles some credit. They have come up with some fabulous little gadgets, even without the use of magic! Many of the other students involved in the sock kit swap have been talking about bags...sew a bag or knit a bag? I've already decided on sewing a bag, but the conversation about felting caught my interest. You knit a bag in the normal Muggle (or magical, I suppose if you have enchanted needles) way and then put it in this contraption called a washing machine. It comes out looking almost transfigured; it's smaller and you can't see your knit stitches anymore! So a few of us decided to ask the Muggle Studies professor if there might be one of these practically magic machines in the school somewhere. Since it's a Muggle product, it wouldn't actually work at Hogwarts without some wand-work, but we managed to get it to go... just a few minutes later and...voila! My very first felted bag!
